The answer to this question may seem obvious. Doesn’t it make sense to promote affiliate products with higher commissions versus those with lower commissions?
My answer is, why limit yourself to either option? I prefer to promote both types of products. However, I have a strategy in place for how I do just that.
In this post, I’m going to share my strategy for promoting high-ticket products as well as low-ticket products.
Both strategies can operate on autopilot when systems are put into place. Read on to learn more.
Why this online strategy works best for high-ticket affiliate commissions.
My Strategy for Selling High Ticket Products
First, let’s define what a high-ticket affiliate product is. A high ticket product is one in which the affiliate program offers commissions of $500 or more per sale.
It takes the same amount of effort to promote a high-ticket product as it does to promote a low-ticket product.
That is why high-ticket commissions are worth the time and effort of promoting. Let’s say for example that your monthly income goal is to make $1,000 online.
You would only need to make two sales of a product with a commission of $500 per sale or one sale of a product with a commission of $1,000 per sale.
In comparison to an affiliate product with a commission of $45 per sale, you would need to make 23 sales. That is a big difference!
You’re probably wondering how do you convince someone to buy a product that is $1,000 or more?
The good news is, it is not your job to convince anyone. Your job is to connect the target audience to this product as they are who will benefit most from using the product.
It is up to the product creator to do the selling and when you find a good product, it will have a sales page that converts well.
I am able to connect the target audience to the product I’m promoting by using a sales funnel.
Example of a Sales Funnel
A sales funnel is a type of website that leads your visitors to the affiliate product that you are promoting.
The benefit of a sales funnel is that it does all of the selling and converting for you. All that you have to do is generate a consistent flow of leads to it.
An effective sales funnel is a two-page website that consists of a squeeze page (opt-in page) and a thank you page.

The squeeze page is your main landing page. On this page, you should offer some type of free incentive (also referred to as a lead magnet.)
This free incentive can be a free ebook, video, audio file, or even an email course. Your lead magnet should offer a helpful benefit for your target audience.
For example, if you were promoting a personal finance course, you could offer a free ebook that gives tips on how to save money.
The squeeze page will also contain an opt-in form. This form can collect an email address, first name, etc. In most cases, collecting an email address is sufficient.
After a visitor inputs their information and clicks submit, they are directed to a thank you page.
On the thank you page, you can let your visitors know about the product you’re promoting by sharing its features and benefits.
You can add a call-to-action such as a button that is linked to your affiliate link. When people click on the button, they are taken to the affiliate offer.
If they choose to buy, you earn a commission.
The Email List
A key part of any sales funnel is the email list that you’re building. Each time someone submits their email address on your squeeze page, they are added to your email database.
Not everyone who goes through your sales funnel will buy the product right away. However, since they are on your email list, you can continue marketing to them.
You can send out emails that let them know more about the product and add your affiliate link to lead them back to the affiliate offer page.

Getting Leads for Your Sales Funnel
Having your sales funnel up is one thing. Keep in mind that it cannot do its job unless you are able to send traffic to it.
You’ll need a consistent flow of leads to your funnel. One of the best ways to do this is by using free traffic strategies.
Three traffic strategies that I like to use include:
- YouTube
- TikTok
- Blog
All three of these strategies can send you traffic for the long term. This is especially true with a YouTube channel and a blog.
TikTok can send you traffic fairly quickly. However, it isn’t as evergreen as a blog or YouTube channel.
Create consistent content with any of these free traffic strategies, link back to your funnel, and you will have a steady flow of leads to your sales funnel.
My Strategy for Selling Low Ticket Products
Let us not forget low-ticket affiliate products. These products can still create a steady income for you.
The common route many beginner affiliate marketers take is to choose a niche and then choose an affiliate product related to that niche.
While that method works, I prefer to spend my time and effort on low-ticket products that have recurring commissions.
What are Recurring Commissions
The typical affiliate commission is only paid to you once for each referral that you send.
A recurring commission is paid to you over and over again as long as your referrals remain a customer of the product you’ve referred them to.
Rather than getting paid once and losing that referral, you can get paid every month as long as your referral continues to pay their monthly fee to the company you’re an affiliate of.
Create a Niche Website for Recurring Commissions
My favorite strategy for earning recurring affiliate commissions is to create a niche website.
I build my website around the same topic as the affiliate product I’m promoting. For example, one of the affiliate products that I promote with recurring commissions is called SamCart.
It is a digital eCommerce platform. I created a niche website that targets an audience that has or wants to create their own digital products and needs a platform to sell them on.
A niche website works well for these low-ticket affiliate offers due to the content that you create for it.
Content is in the form of blog posts (articles) that answer the questions and concerns of your niche audience.
Do this well and do this often, and your niche website will attract a consistent flow of organic web traffic.
Summing Up
Both of these methods can run on autopilot doing all of the selling converting for you. You’ll only need to generate free traffic.
You can use social media options such as Tiktok and YouTube to send traffic to your sales funnel.
The blog posts that you write will generate free traffic for your niche website.
