Or let’s say you’re in the health and fitness niche. You could create an ebook with twenty healthy main dishes to prepare for under $20.
Offer some value and your lead magnet will do the job of enticing your visitors to input their email address into your opt-in form.
Now that you know what a lead magnet is and how to use it, let’s go over some ideas for creating your own.
Create an Ebook
The ebook is one of the most common and easiest lead magnets that you can create. An ebook is a PDF file. You can open up your favorite word processor and type up your ebook.
When you’re done, download it as a PDF file and you have your lead magnet ready to send to your new subscribers.
If you don’t want to write your ebook, you can outsource the work to a freelance writer. A free ebook doesn’t have to be lengthy.
It can be one page or up to ten or more. Here are some ebook ideas:
- How-to guide
- Helpful checklist
- Step-by-step tutorial
- List of [products, services, etc.] for your niche
Repurpose Blog Posts
If you already operate a blog, you can repurpose some of your posts and create an ebook. This will save you a ton of time.
In most cases, you already have content on your blog related to your niche. You can copy and paste the posts that are all related into a document to save as a PDF file.
Create a Short Video Course
Video courses are extremely popular and many people like following along step-by-step by watching a tutorial.
A short course is super easy to create. It can consist of three videos. You don’t need any high-tech equipment.
Your smartphone is sufficient enough to record video. Upload your videos to YouTube and set them as private.
Post them on your website and send each video once per day to your email list.
Make an Email Course
This is similar to a video course but even easier to create. Create a short email course between three and five days.
Create an autoresponder campaign in which you set up each email to send out every day to your email list.
The course can teach your subscribers how to complete a task, accomplish a goal, or learn something new.
PLR Content
If you don’t have the time or do not want to create your own lead magnet, you can utilize PLR content.
PLR stands for Private Label Rights. You can find plenty of PLR content websites where you can buy content related to your niche.
What PLR enables you to do is download content that you can use as-is or edit any way that you like.
You can repurpose this content and create a PDF file, audio file, or even a video file if you want.
Audio File
Recording an audio file is another easy way to create a lead magnet. You can create a short audio file that explains something or you can even interview someone successful in your niche.
These are quick and easy to make. Your subscribers can listen to these files while they’re driving or even from their smartphones.
Podcasts are popular so it wouldn’t be unusual to offer an audio file as a lead magnet.
Outsourcing the Creation of Your Lead Magnet
If you want to outsource all of the work, you can hire a freelancer on a website like Fiverr or Upwork.
All that you would need to do is provide any assets that you have available such as blog posts, content you’ve already written, audio files, videos, etc.
Or you can hire someone to do the writing of your ebook, create a video, audio file, etc.
Fiverr is also great for finding someone to format your PDF files and create ebook covers.
It will cost more if you need to hire a writer. Personally, I don’t mind typing up a short ebook and saving it as a PDF file.
I create my own ebook covers using Canva. The entire process takes me a couple of hours and then I have my lead magnet done that I can use for the long term.
Creating Your Sales Funnel
You’ll only need a simple two-step sales funnel to build your email list and promote your affiliate product.
This simple funnel will consist of your squeeze page and a thank you page.
The squeeze page is your initial landing page that will contain a form in which your visitors can input their email address and possibly a first name.
On your squeeze page, you’ll offer your lead magnet.
The second page of your funnel will be your “thank you” page. This is the page your visitor is directed to after submitting their contact information.
On this page, you can let the visitor know more about the product you are promoting and have a call-to-action button that sends them to the merchant page.
The great thing about utilizing a sales funnel is that you only need to set it up once and it will do all of the selling and converting into sales for you.
You’ll only need to send traffic to your funnel on a regular basis.
